SMOKE ALARM EDUCATION AND PLACEMENT
The Smoke Alarm Protocol outlines the method for distributing free smoke alarms to those in need within our fire districts. Alarms that are given to individuals who can not afford to purchase them on their own. These alarms are always installed by the fire district to ensure that the alarm proper placement and to determine if the individual requesting the alarm needs any additional services.
A computer program is being researched that will enable the Prevention Division to track the placement of smoke alarms and to target specific locations with in the two districts that are in need of smoke alarm assistance. This will reduce duplicated efforts and allow for targeted distribution.
