WILDLAND FIRE PREVENTION EDUCATION 2005 was a banner year for Wildfire prevention. The Prevention Division worked in collaboration with the Oregon Dept of Forestry, US Forest Service, and fire districts across the county to carry out the programs, projects and events listed below.
In addition, the Clackamas County Fire Prevention Cooperative (CCC) assigned FPO Lasher to serve as the Public Education Group representative to the Clackamas County Wildfire Protection Plan Working Group. This organization met throughout the year, under the direction of the county, and developed the Clackamas County Wildfire Community Protection Plan. (Sandy Fire District modified this plan to create the Sandy Community Wildfire Protection Plan – it is necessary to have this plan to qualify for several grants). In fact, CCC wrote and received a $40,000 grant for public education programs, which will be carried out in 2006.
